The Off-Campus Student Services Office at the University of Colorado at Boulder will host an Off-Campus Housing Fair for students on Wednesday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom of the University Memorial Center. The fair will allow students to collect information on housing opportunities for next year from a variety of property management companies and landlords, according to Susan Stafford, center director.

University of Colorado at Boulder Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Ron Stump announced that Peggy Bonner has been elected to chair the university's new Women and Alcohol Resources committee.

For the first time in its history, the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law has cracked The Hispanic Business magazine's top 10 list of the best law schools for Hispanics. The survey, published in the March 2002 edition, ranks CU ninth in the nation.

Daniel Dennett, a distinguished philosopher and leading proponent of the computational model of the mind, will give a public talk at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Monday, March 18. Dennett, who will be on campus March 18-19 as a guest of the World Affairs Athenaeum, will speak at 3 p.m. in Old Main Chapel about "Darwin's Dangerous Idea." The event is free and open to the public.

University of Colorado at Boulder engineering students will participate in a first of its kind, round-the-clock Global Design Initiative with students in England and Singapore March 11-15. The goal of the project is to design a race car in just five days by taking advantage of successive time zones to do 24-hour-a-day design. Â鶹ÒùÔº from Aston University in Birmingham, England, and Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore will collaborate with CU-Boulder students on the design, with each team handing off their work electronically to the next group at the end of the day.

A free concert and comedy show featuring guitarist Mike Errico and comedian Bobby Lee will be presented Thursday, April 4, by the CU-Boulder Program Council. The show is at 8 p.m. following the last Trivia Bowl game of the day in the Glenn Miller Ballroom of the University Memorial Center, located at Broadway and Euclid Avenue. The event is presented to CU-Boulder students and the public as part of the 2002 Trivia Bowl entertainment.

Underage drinkers beware: That bouncer by the door of local Boulder eating and drinking establishments might just be a Boulder police officer. The Boulder Police Department, in conjunction with the Hill's Responsible Hospitality Group and the University of Colorado at Boulder's A Matter of Degree Program will implement the program citywide in Boulder soon.

"Environmental Ethics" is the topic of the 2002 Morris Colloquium to be held March 15-16 at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Presented by the CU-Boulder philosophy department, the colloquium will feature lectures by some of the most prominent figures in environmental ethics. All events are free and open to the public.

Fiske Planetarium at the University of Colorado at Boulder will present "Colorado Skies," a live show featuring some of the stellar sights seen in the night sky in Colorado, on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. Visitors will see images of the night sky over Colorado as it appears to the unaided eye, through telescopes and in wavelengths of light human eyes can't see. They also will learn about upcoming events in the night sky, and will track the movement of planets through the skies of this month and beyond.

The University of Colorado at Boulder's Black Biomedical Research Movement, or BBRM, will host an African-American Cultural Health Symposium and Cultural Fair March 15 and March 16 on campus. The two-day event was created for black students of all ages. The campus events will be free and open to the public. Events held at the Boulder Theater Saturday evening, March 16, will cost $10 per person.
