Each year, CU-Boulder dance students and faculty come together for 鈥淭he Current,鈥� an annual showcase of brand-new pieces. This year鈥檚 performances take place April 15-17 and feature evocative, original work by dance professors Erika Randall and Donna Mejia, lecturer Larry Southall, alumna Megan Odom and Roser Guest Artist Faye Driscoll.

The CU-Boulder campus will host the university鈥檚 first annual Diverse Learners Awareness Week (DLAW) April 18-22. During this week our campus will celebrate the diversity of ways in which people learn through interactive demonstrations, live-action theater, an assistive technology expo, conference-style presentations, roundtable discussions, workshops and more. And you can get involved!

CU-Boulder鈥檚 TRANSforming Gender Conference is celebrating its tenth year. The Conference hosts national and local transgender, genderqueer, intersex, Two-Spirit activists and scholars to raise awareness of how we can celebrate the diversity of gender and sex.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit the University of Colorado Boulder June 23 after health issues derailed a previous visit scheduled last October, CU-Boulder student and local Tibetan leaders announced today. Tickets are not yet available for sale. Details will be announced in coming months on this University of Colorado event website.

Hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, best known for his hit "Say It," will perform on March 29, at 8:30 p.m. at CU-Boulder's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors for the event, sponsored by CU-Boulder's Program Council, will open at 8 p.m. Student tickets are $15 and tickets for the public are $25. All guests will need a printed ticket and valid form of photo identification to enter.

Renowned culinary and cultural historian Michael Twitty will speak at CU-Boulder on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. During the event, which is presented by the Cultural Events Board and is free and open to the public, Twitty will discuss the ties between food, culture and freedom. Tickets will be available at the door.

Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak will engage in a lively talk organized and moderated by students at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Macky Auditorium, the Cultural Events Board and Conference on World Affairs Student Group announced today. Wozniak鈥檚 talk doubles as the keynote presentation for the 68 th Conference on World Affairs to be held April 4 to 8.

The madcap jukebox musical 鈥淩eturn to the Forbidden Planet,鈥� set in a rock 鈥榥鈥� roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.

CU Presents鈥� 2015-16 season continues with the first ever Boulder performance by Los Angeles-based dance company BODYTRAFFIC. The group is set to present three contemporary pieces inspired by urban life from all around the world on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Join your fellow students, staff, faculty and administration for the spring Diversity Summit Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kittredge Central and the Champions Center. The summit will focus on 鈥淕oing Beyond II: Deepening the Dialogue鈥� and will emphasize intergroup dialogues, caucuses hosted by the Chancellor鈥檚 Advisory Committees on issues relevant to campus, contemporary teach-ins, and inclusive excellence facilitations. The goal of the Spring Summit is to begin to have dialogues for achieving continuous social change.
