Join CU Libraries for a traditional Tibetan smoke ceremony Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. in the Sundial Plaza and for Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche's lecture beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for British and Irish Studies (CBIS) on the 5th floor of Norlin Library.

Join us for the opening of "Here Comes Ralphie!" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Heritage Center. This special exhibit focuses on the early history of CU mascots and everything you want to know about Ralphie! Ralphie will be outside Old Main from noon to 1 p.m. and Chip will be at the Heritage Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public and admission to the Heritage Center is always free.

Elias Sacks, assistant professor of Religious Studies and Jewish Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, will be giving a talk titled, 鈥淒oes God Make Mistakes? Should God Repent?鈥� at Aspen Jewish Congregation on Friday, Aug. 26, during Shabbat services at 6 p.m. This talk is the inaugural event of the CU Boulder Peak to Peak Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.

Qais Akbar Omar, author of "A Night in the Emperor's Garden," will speak on his experiences staging "Love鈥檚 Labour's Lost" in Kabul in 2005. This free, public event takes place Monday, Aug. 29, in the University Theatre.

In celebration of the National Park Service鈥檚 100th anniversary on Aug. 25, University Libraries is presenting an exhibition of maps. Visit the Earth Sciences & Map Library in Benson Earth Sciences on the CU Boulder campus between Aug. 22 and Dec. 16 to experience the wonder of our National Park system as visualized in maps.

First Folio, the original compilation of Shakespeare鈥檚 36 plays, is on display at the University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare exhibition from Aug. 9-31. This unique viewing opportunity commemorates this year鈥檚 400th anniversary of Shakespeare鈥檚 death. The First Folio! exhibition at the CU Art Museum is open to the public and free of charge, yet reservations are strongly encouraged and can be scheduled through Brown Paper Tickets.

William Shakespeare filled his works with references to the stars in the night sky. Join the Alumni Association at CU Boulder's renowned Fiske Planetarium for an enchanting evening as actors and scientists bring those references to life and give them meaning during Shakespeare and the Stars on Thursday, Aug. 25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 25, Daniel Sol贸rzano will deliver the Best Should Teach Lecture, 鈥淯sing the Tools of Critical Race Theory and Racial Microaggressions to Examine Everyday Racism In and Out of the Classroom,鈥� at 7 p.m. in the University Memorial Center Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Illenium will headline the annual Welcomefest Concert taking place on Farrand Field on Saturday, Aug. 20. K.Flay, 888 and Slow Caves are slated to open. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. The annual Welcomefest Concert is sponsored by Program Council.
