Fiske Planetarium at the University of Colorado at Boulder will tour the Milky Way during "City of Stars," Friday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the planetarium. The pre-recorded show explores some of Earth's galactic neighbors - stars, nebulae and clusters. Visitors also will tour distant galaxies beyond the Milky Way. Tickets go on sale at 7 p.m. the night of the show and are $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. Fiske Planetarium is located at Regent Drive and Kittredge Loop Drive on the CU-Boulder campus.

Margaret Miles, one of America's leading scholars of religion and the body in late antiquity and medieval Europe, will present an illustrated lecture on "Achieving the Christian Body: Visual Incentives to Imitation of Christ in the 14th-15th Centuries" on Monday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Eaton Humanities room 150 at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Miles is dean, academic vice president and Dillenberger Professor of Historical Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif.

The University of Colorado at Boulder will offer a variety of events in honor of Native American Awareness Week April 15-20 including a children's Pow Wow, a concert and a session with storyteller and magician Autumn Morning Star. All activities are free and open to the public and were organized by Oyate, CU-Boulder's indigenous student organization. This year's events focus on the performing arts, according to Theresa Halsey, Oyate's community adviser.

The University of Colorado at Boulder will kick off a new campus-wide interdisciplinary program in Developing Areas Research and Teaching with a lecture series in April. Geography Professor Stuart Corbridge of the University of Miami and the London School of Economics will kick off the lecture series with a talk on "Development as Freedom: The Spaces of Amartya Sen," on Friday, April 13, at 4 p.m. in Eaton Humanities room 150.

The CU-Boulder MBA entrepreneurship program was rated 16th in the nation in a ranking of graduate entrepreneurship programs released April 2 by U.S. News & World Report magazine. The ranking placed CU-Boulder's MBA entrepreneurship program among the top 20 in the nation along with Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, MIT, Northwestern and the University of Pennsylvania.

The University of Colorado at Boulder's environmental law program is ranked fourth in the nation in a ranking of selected graduate programs released today by U.S. News and World Report magazine. CU-Boulder's environmental law program moved up from a ranking of fifth in the nation in 2000. Overall, CU's School of Law was tied for a ranking of 38th out of 174 accredited law schools, up from 45th place last year.

A search committee has been named to seek a director of diversity for the College of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The new position will address the College of Business's commitment to diversity issues. James Marlatt, senior instructor of information systems, is serving as interim director.

Dr. Eric Kandel, winner of the 2000 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, will lecture on "The Past, the Future and the Biology of Memory Storage" at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Wednesday, April 11. The 8 p.m. talk in Macky Auditorium is free and open to the public. The 36th George Gamow Memorial Lecture is intended for a general audience of non-scientists.

A ranking of business programs in the Academy of Management Journal rated CU-Boulder's College of Business faculty 38th in the nation. The study evaluated faculty research productivity in the premier academic journals.

Newly discovered evidence of planets orbiting other stars, and future strategies in the quest for extra-solar planets will be examined during "Is Life Common in the Universe," a live show at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Fiske Planetarium on Friday, April 6, and Tuesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. Astrophysical and planetary sciences Professor John Bally will show the planetarium audience recent observations of newly-forming stars and the planetary systems that are developing around them.
