The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program is pleased to announce the recipients of this summer鈥檚 student grants. These outstanding students represent a wide range of disciplines and demonstrate how undergraduates advance the university's research and creative mission.

Rita Garson, now 76, will celebrate her special day at CU Boulder with her sister, adult children and grandchildren, two of whom are also alumni.

Researchers have figured out a way to predict bacteria鈥檚 environmental pH preferences from a quick look at their genomes, using machine learning. Led by experts at CU Boulder, the new approach promises to help guide ecological restoration efforts, agriculture and even the development of health-related probiotics.
