To celebrate the graduates in our house, theÌýDepartment of Theatre & Dance holds a special commencement ceremony annually inÌýthe spring. Our department'sÌýceremony will be held May 8th, 2025 @ 2:30pm in the Roe Green Theatre.

While our staff can pullÌýgraduation information, weÌýdouble check with students in case they want to walk in the spring departmental ceremony butÌýgraduated in December, or plan toÌýgraduate in summer. Please send in our to make sure you're included in our ceremony!

Frequently Asked Questions
Typically our department ceremony is held on the same day as CU's Commencement Ceremony, which is the Thursday after finals end. Our ceremony happensÌýat 2:30p in the Roe Green Theatre. See our Contact UsÌýpage for directions to our building.
Yes, the University of Colorado and Department of Theatre & Dance areÌýcommitted to providing equal access to individuals with disabilities. ADA Accessibility
- The Roe Green Theatre can most easily be accessed via elevator. The elevator is located on the east side of the building on the Norlin Quadrangle side
- Wheelchair companion seating is available in the Roe GreenÌýTheatre
- ADA accessible parking is available near the Roe GreenÌýTheatre with a state-issued accessible license plate, permit, decal or placard. Regular parking fees still apply
- Lot #208 on this Campus Parking Map is the closest to the Roe Green Theatre
- Our Gender Neutral Bathroom is located on the third floor in the Dance wing of our building on the west side of room W325

ADA-accessible parking is available in Lots 204, 380 and 440 West for guests attending recognition ceremonies. A disability parking placard is not required to park in these lots. Courtesy golf cart shuttles will be available for guests who have mobility challenges.
Our ceremony typically lasts approximately one hour.
No, our ceremony is open to all friends and family. Just let us know an approximate head count in our Commencement Participation Form so we can make sure we have enough refreshments!
No, we encourage our students to dress in a way that makes them feel comfortable. Each year around half of our students wear regalia and the other half wear casual, festive, or businessÌýclothing.
Yes, we publish a program for our department's commencement ceremony. There will be a QR code for the digital copy which will also be posted online.
Absolutely. Since CU celebrates commencement once a year we hope that all of our fall, spring and summer graduates will attend.
Yes, we welcome our theatre and dance minors to join in the celebrations!
When to Arrive for Commencement
Expect heavy traffic while traveling to Boulder, in the city and on campus. We recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time to find parking
On-Campus Commencement Parking
All campus parking lots will be open for public parking on a space-available basis. You may park on campus, including in pay-to-park lots, for no charge on the days of commencement and recognition ceremonies. Accessible parking and drop-off locations, as well as wheelchair assistance, will also be available for guests traveling to campus for commencement.
