The CU Boulder Intramural (IM) Sports program has partnered with Special Olympics Colorado to promote social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. The Unified Sports program at CU Boulder joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. All that is required to participate in the Unified Sports program is an active Buff OneCard.
At present, IM runs a unified flag football league in the fall and a basketball league in the spring. The basketball league begins on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. and continues every Sunday at 2 p.m.
