Undergraduate Student Assistant

The Aaron Whiteley Lab in the Biochemistry department is looking for a Student Assistant 1-Entry/Semi-Skilled to work 6-15 hours per week.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate lab technician responsibilities include washing and sterilizing glassware, autoclaving biohazardous waste, and media and reagent preparation.

Minimum qualifications: Seeking student working towards a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. Ideal candidates possess at least one year of prior laboratory (biology and biochemistry) experience and have working knowledge of sterile technique. Ability to perform basic chemical calculations and use general lab equipment such as pipets and scales is a must.

Start date: Start date should be as soon as possible. A one-year minimum commitment is requested, though schedule and total hours may vary depending on other commitments.Ìý

Hourly pay: $16

Responsibilities will include to provide in-person, one-on-one sessions, help student improve their knowledge of the course material, provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment, maintain consistent communication with the student, and maintain consistent communication with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3.0 GPA, Minimum of a B+ in the tutoring course. Full time CU Boulder student who is at least a sophomore, passionate about course content and has the desire to share with other students, desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own success. Work with limited supervision.

Start Date: Spring 2025, expected to continue for the academic year. Hourly pay of $20.00.
