    Following a planting in the fall, CU Boulder formally dedicated a tree near Farrand Field to the 10 lives lost in the King Soopers tragedy last March. The ceremony featured several speakers, and attendees were encouraged to participate in a ceremonial planting.

    On Feb. 25, Colorado Department of Higher Education Executive Director Angie Paccione visited the campus for a learning tour. She met with community members who are part of the women's basketball team; campus sustainability initiatives; diversity, equity and inclusion programs; the aerospace engineering program; and others.

    CU President Todd Saliman visited campus on Feb. 21. He met with a variety of groups, including students and faculty and staff who focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in their roles. Saliman also toured the College of Music, which celebrated a state-of-the-art addition to its Imig Building last fall.

  • Buffs on campus during Family Weekend 2021
    Thousands of Buff family members descended on campus on a sunny Oct. 14–17 weekend to visit students, attend presentations, tour the area and cheer on the Colorado Buffaloes in a football win.

    Campus community members took part in events celebrating this year's Health and Wellness Summit, including visits with therapy dogs, a health hut outside the UMC and the Take Care Street Fair. Chancellor Philip DiStefano stopped by to visit with attendees and health professionals.

    The CU Boulder community welcomed the classes of 2020 and 2021, which did not have in-person commencement ceremonies, for a Night on Norlin on Friday, Sept. 17.

    Colorado Governor Jared Polis and first gentleman Marlon Reis, a CU alumnus, married in a ceremony held at CU Boulder's Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre on Sept. 15. The occasion represents the first same-sex marriage of a sitting governor, according to the Associated Press.

    Award-winning actor, producer, director and activist America Ferrera kicked off this year's Buffs One Read with a live discussion at the CU Events Center on Wednesday evening before an audience of students, faculty and staff.
