- University of Colorado Athletic Director Rick George was named the Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
- The Boulder Chamber recently honored Professor Reiland Rabaka with an Impact Award at the organization’s Celebration of Leadership. Rabaka is the founder and director of CU Boulder’s Center for African and African American Studies.
- Emeritus faculty member Doug Duncan was recently recognized by the International Astronomical Union for images taken with a device he invented to capture eclipses with a smartphone.

- CU Boulder doctoral student Emily Kibby has won the Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award in recognition of her work researching bacterial immune responses.
- Undergraduate cellist Louis Saxton and graduate violinist Rinat Erlichman were awarded first prizes at this year's Concerto Competition, a highly anticipated event at the College of Music.
- Amy Palmer, professor of biochemistry, has been recognized for revamping classroom experiences, championing diversity and striving to connect with students “beyond the course curriculum.â€
- Natasha Bosanac has earned a 2024 Air Force grant to advance the study of spacecraft trajectories in cislunar space—the region around the Earth and the moon.
- The Quantum Scholars Program has received a big boost in the form of a matching gift from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. This generous contribution will provide scholarships for up to 20 additional Quantum Scholars each year.
- The Boulder Faculty Assembly is pleased to announced the winners for this year's Excellence Awards. The award categories include excellence in leadership and service; research, scholarly and creative work; and teaching.
