CU-Boulder Alumni Association To Present 75th Annual Awards

The CU-Boulder Alumni Association will honor 13 outstanding members of the campus community during the 75th Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 4. The award recipients will be recognized for their distinguished careers and exceptional contributions to CU and society at 7 p.m. in Old Main Chapel on the Boulder campus. The public is welcome to attend this free event.

Former House Science Committee Director To Speak At CU-Boulder On April 18

CU-Boulder's UMC Gets Design Award For Student-Centered Facilities

The University Memorial Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder has received a design award from the Association of College Unions International for the 2002 expansion and renovation of the UMC. The first annual ACUI award, the 2005 Design Award of Excellence, highlights excellence in the design of student-centered facilities supporting campus community building and student learning. CU-Boulder's UMC is one of eight award recipients from 22 submissions around the world.

CU-Boulder Engineering Days Features Egg Drop, Rocket Launch, MacGyver Contest

Â鶹ÒùÔº at the University of Colorado at Boulder are celebrating Engineering Days this week with a series of fun and challenging events including the annual college egg drop and rocket launch competition, and a new MacGyver Design Contest. Hosted by the University of Colorado Engineering Council with events sponsored by various corporations and professional societies, Engineering Days is an annual celebration of the engineering profession and a chance for students to apply their engineering skills in fun and creative ways.

AMA To Recognize CU-Boulder, City of Boulder on Alcohol Issues

MEDIA ADVISORY The American Medical Association and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will recognize the City of Boulder and the University of Colorado at Boulder tonight for their efforts to reduce high-risk drinking on campus and in the community. The presentation will take place at the beginning of the Boulder City Council's study session this evening, April 12th, at 6 p.m., in the City Council chambers at the Boulder Municipal Building, 1777 Broadway.

CU Law School Announces New Loan Repayment Program For Grads Taking Public Service Jobs

On April 14, three students from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law's class of 2005 will be the first to receive financial aid through the school's new Loan Repayment Assistant Program. The program was created by students to encourage graduates to pursue legal careers in public service or not-for-profit organizations that are typically lower paying than other law-related careers. Student fees will fund the project.

History Competition To Bring 600 Â鶹ÒùÔº To CU-Boulder April 23

Hundreds of Colorado middle and high school students will be on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus Saturday, April 23, to compete in Colorado History Day. About 600 students in grades six through 12 will compete in the event, which is part of the largest national humanities education program in the country. The event is free and open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The winners will represent Colorado in the National History Day competition in June.

Colorado Creed Ceremony At Old Main, 1 p.m.

Student organizers will be joined by CU-Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Ron Stump in a ceremony on the south side of Old Main on the CU-Boulder campus.
