CU-Boulder Leeds School Of Business Kicks Off New Ethics Network With May 13 Panel

The University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business is a founding member of a new network exploring corporate compliance, governance and ethics that will kick off with a May 13 panel discussion on corporate scandals. The Colorado Ethics and Compliance Exchange is a network of Colorado executives and business educators from Qwest Communications, First Data, Adelphia and the University of Denver.

Early Arrival Recommended For CU-Boulder Commencement May 6

People attending the University of Colorado at Boulder commencement ceremony May 6 at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium will join a crowd of about 20,000 and should plan an early arrival. No tickets are required for the ceremony, which will be held in Folsom Stadium regardless of the weather. The majority of the parking for the ceremony will be in lot 436 on Regent Drive, just south of Colorado Avenue.

CU-Boulder Opens Field Laboratory For Sustainable Building Practices

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder has established a unique teaching and learning laboratory to give students the opportunity to practice sustainable building techniques in an outdoor setting. The public is invited to attend a grand opening reception for the new Field Laboratory for Applied Sustainable Technologies on Tuesday, May 3, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The reception will be held at the laboratory, located directly east of the Administrative and Research Center at 3100 Marine St. on CU-Boulder's East Campus.

CU-Boulder Law Professor Norton Steuben Is Honored For 'Career Of Service'

The University of Colorado School of Law has announced the eighth annual Clifford Calhoun Public Service Award this year will go to Norton Steuben, the school's Nicholas Rosenbaum Professor of Law Emeritus. In announcing the award, law school Dean David Getches said, "By volunteering to share his professional expertise locally and worldwide, Nort Steuben exemplifies the spirit of public service by a faculty member that the law school celebrates with the Calhoun Award."

CU-Boulder Chancellor Decides Campus Will Join Group To Monitor Apparel Factories

The University of Colorado at Boulder will join the Worker Rights Consortium, a national group that monitors workplace conditions in apparel factories in developing nations, according to an announcement today by Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano. The announcement was delivered by Vice Chancellor Paul Tabolt to students engaged in a demonstration outside the chancellor's office since early today. A letter from Tabolt also was provided to the Board of Regents, informing them of the campus's decision.

CU Researchers Awarded $5 Million To Help Military Predict Training Success

Researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder have been awarded a $5 million grant over five years to help optimize the training of American soldiers. The project's goal is to create a computer model that will be able to tell the military how effective different training methods will be on numerous tasks ranging from language translation to tank gunnery.

Jazz Musicians At CU-Boulder Win Two Down Beat Magazine Awards
