David Pacheco has been named the new affirmative action officer for the .Ìý
The affirmative action officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the university's affirmative action obligations as a federal contractor and is the campus authority on affirmative-action compliance issues. The positionÌýreports to the chief human resources officer,ÌýKatherine Erwin.
Pacheco has been a member of the University of Colorado Boulder community for over 16 years. He spent two years as a research attorney in the Office of University CounselÌýand served as acting affirmative action officer in HRÌýfrom 2011 to 2013.
For the last 11 years, Pacheco also served as an investigator for theÌý (formerly the Office of Discrimination and Harassment).Ìý
He has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of New Mexico.
Pacheco was awarded the chancellor’s Employee of the Year Award in 2011, received the Boulder County Bar Association 2009 Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award and served as the co-chair of the Boulder County Bar Association New and Young Lawyer’s section from 2006 to 2012.
