Special recognition ceremonies will be held by most University of Colorado at Boulder schools and colleges in addition to the main university commencement ceremony on Friday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium.
Following is a schedule of special events in the schools and colleges.
* College of Architecture and Planning recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m. in Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry, room 140.
* Leeds School of Business undergraduate recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the Coors Events/Conference Center.
* Leeds School of Business MBA recognition ceremony, Friday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Jim Packer, senior vice president/general sales manager, West Coast for MGM, will be the speaker.
* School of Education recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. State Sen. Ron Tupa, D-Boulder, will be the speaker.
* College of Engineering and Applied Science recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 8 p.m. in the Coors Events/Conference Center. John McConnell, founder and director of the Western Colorado Math and Science Center, will be the speaker.
* Graduate School reception for doctoral students, Friday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History in the Henderson Building.
* School of Journalism and Mass Communication recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 2:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Pocky Marranzino, president of Karsh & Hagan Advertising in Denver, will be the speaker.
* School of Law recognition ceremony, Friday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Judge John L. Kane, senior district judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, will be the speaker.
* College of Music recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 6, at 3 p.m. in the Imig Music Building's Grusin Music Hall. College of Music Dean and Professor Emeritus Warner Imig will be the speaker.
Many departments in the College of Arts and Sciences will hold events to recognize their graduates. Many of these events may not be open to the public, and in some cases tickets may be required.
