Federal Communications Commission Chair Michael Powell will deliver the keynote speech at the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law's fourth annual conference on regulatory policy in the Internet age.

Sponsored by the University's Silicon Flatirons Telecommunications Program, the conference, called "The Digital Broadband Migration: Toward a Regulatory Regime for the Internet Age," will be Feb. 8 - 9 in the law school's Lindsley Memorial Courtroom on the Boulder campus.

Seating is limited and participants are asked to register in advance at . Various fees apply.

The Fleming Law building is located south of Fiske Planetarium off Regent Drive. The conference meets from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 and from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 9.

The conference also will feature guest speakers Craig Mundie, chief technology officer for Microsoft, and Lawrence Lessig, the foremost academic in the study of Internet regulation.

"We are excited about hosting what promises to be a fascinating set of discussions on cutting edge Internet policy questions," said Phil Weiser, executive director of the Silicon Flatirons Program. "This will be our fourth conference addressing Internet policy issues and it will help continue the program's reputation for spurring `bolder thinking in Boulder.' "

Joining Powell, Mundie and Lessig will be a number of leaders from academic, industry and government circles who will examine three central areas of regulatory policy associated with the Internet age: broadband policy, digital rights management and privacy and security issues.

The law school's "Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law" will publish the conference proceedings.

The Silicon Flatirons Telecommunications Program was established nearly four years ago to examine cutting-edge issues involving telecommunications technology, business, law and policy.
