The history of manned space flight and the development of the space shuttle will be explored at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Fiske Planetarium on Friday, Aug. 1, at 8 p.m.
During the live show about "The History of the Space Shuttle," visitors will learn about scientific advances including working in a microgravity environment, the deployment of satellites and probes and how astronauts are ferried back and forth from Earth to the International Space Station. The audience also will learn about the shuttle program's current situation and the possible future of the program.
Admission for the show is $5 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for children and seniors. The Sommers-Bausch Observatory will be open to the public after the Friday evening show, weather permitting. Admission to the observatory is free.
