A news briefing to release a new report from the CU-Boulder Center of the American West titled "What Every Westerner Should Know About Energy" will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
The briefing, in the University Memorial Center, room 425, will end about 11:15 a.m. To get to the briefing room, enter the UMC from Euclid Avenue through the south terrace doors and take the elevator or stairs near the main doors to the fourth floor.
The 42-page report, principally authored by Professor Patricia Nelson Limerick, draws on a two-day discussion of energy issues with 22 experts from industry, academia and government. Copies of the report and its recommendations will be available at the briefing.
Briefing participants will include:
* Patricia Limerick, professor of history and environmental studies and chair of the Center of the American West at CU-Boulder
* Michael Hannigan, research associate, department of mechanical engineering at CU-Boulder
* and Peter Dea, president and CEO of Western Gas Resources Inc. of Denver.
