Josef Beck of the German Consulate in Los Angeles will speak on "The German Position on Iraq" on Wednesday, March 5, in the University of Colorado at Boulder's Old Main Chapel.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. His presentation will be about 30 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Beck has served as the deputy consul general of Germany in Los Angeles since August 1999. He has been involved with embassy work for more than 20 years and also has served at embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany in Belgium, Ecuador and the Congo.
Beck was the political counselor for the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., and also served at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs dealing with NATO.
