The 33rd annual Virginia Westerberg Children's Literature Conference will be held on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus on Saturday, Nov. 2, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The conference, sponsored by the CU-Boulder School of Education and the Colorado Language Arts Society, is expected to attract more than 200 people, including parents, teachers, artists, writers and librarians.
Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel, award-winning children's book publishers, will speak during the conference's luncheon, which begins at 1 p.m. in the University Memorial Center Glenn Miller Ballroom.
The deadline for registering for the lunch session of the conference has passed, however, on-site registration for the rest of the conference's sessions is available on Nov. 2.
Stevens and Stevens Crummel are sisters and together have written and illustrated several children's books including "Cook-a-Doodle-Do," "My Big Dog," "And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon" and "Shoe Town."
On Nov. 2, registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the University Memorial Center at Broadway and Euclid on the CU-Boulder campus. Sessions will begin at 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. The sessions will include story telling, tips on teaching literature and highlights on new titles in children's literature and young-adult literature from teachers and librarians.
On-site registration is $35, but does not include the lunch.
