Local students were among the 4,377 students who received degrees May 10 during spring commencement ceremonies on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus.
The ceremony was held in Folsom Stadium on the CU-Boulder campus.
The Chancellor's Recognition Award for students receiving all As in their college careers was given to Nathan Brandwein of Fairway, Kan., who received a bachelor's degree in music, and Cara Seelinger of Lyons, Colo., who received a bachelor's degree in environmental, population and organismic biology.
Outstanding graduates named by the schools and colleges for the spring 2002 commencement were Yihsin Erica Tsai of Fort Collins, Colo., College of Arts and Sciences, double bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and environmental, population and organismic biology; Ren Ariizumi of Kenmore, Wash., College of Music, bachelor's degree in music; Benjamin Albertson of Fort Collins, Colo., College of Architecture and Planning, bachelor's degree in architecture.
Also named as outstanding graduates were Megan Anne Young of Denver, Leeds School of Business, double bachelor's degrees in marketing and Spanish; Catherine Ann Allen of Centennial, Colo., College of Engineering and Applied Science, bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Angela Gasperini of Grand Junction, Colo., School of Journalism and Mass Communication, bachelor's degree in journalism-broadcast news; Kimberly Brown of Evergreen, Colo., School of Education, bachelor's degree in mathematics, diploma in education (certificate program) and bachelor's degree in economics.
