Claudio RoumainOchoa, a 22-year-old University of Colorado at Boulder student from Aurora, Colo., has been awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship from Pi Kappa Phi to use toward his future academic goals.
RoumainOchoa, who will graduate this month with a degree in finance and international business, was recognized by the national fraternity as one of six 2001-2002 Pi Kapp Scholars. Recipients were selected from applications nationwide.
The Pi Kapp Scholar award recognizes six juniors or seniors who have consistently combined outstanding grades with leadership and service to their fraternity and campus.
This spring, RoumainOchoa worked on Lt. Gov. Joe Rogers' bid for U.S. Congress, which involved heading up research and formulating political strategy for the campaign.
After graduation, RoumainOchoa will work as a White House intern in the West Wing. He plans to attend law school in the fall.
