Irene Pepperberg, an internationally known animal behaviorist, will present "In Search of King Solomon's Ring: Studies on the Cognitive and Communicative Abilities of Grey Parrots," on Tuesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Muenzinger Psychology, room E050.
The talk, which is free and open to the public, will focus on Pepperberg's nearly 25 years of research on the intelligence of Grey parrots.
Pepperberg, a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has worked with a Grey parrot named Alex for more than 20 years and has presented evidence that someday Alex may be able to read. She summed up her studies in the book, "The Alex Studies."
The lecture is sponsored by the Baker Hall Residential Academic Program. For more information call (303) 492-3188.
