A group of 24 teachers from across the United States will wrap up a four-week institute funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities on "Perceiving the American West" on Friday, Aug. 3, at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
The middle and high school teachers spent the past month learning about the American West through lectures, discussions and field trips. Several CU-Boulder professors were involved in the program.
The institute will end with a discussion in the Education Building, room 143, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The first hour will be spent discussing the program, followed by the handing out of T-shirts and goodbyes during the second hour. Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend.
The institute was conducted by the CU-Boulder Center of the American West and the Social Science Education Consortium.
