A seminar titled "The Role of Localities and States in Telecommunications Regulation: Understanding the Jurisdictional Challenges in an Internet Era" will be held April 16 in the Lindsley Memorial Courtroom at the University of Colorado School of Law from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The forum will discuss how states and localities can play meaningful roles in telecommunications policy as jurisdictional boundaries are defined by telecommunications networks and traffic. The event is sponsored by the CU School of Law's Silicon Flatirons Telecommunications Program.
Speakers will include Steve Davis, senior vice president of Qwest Communications; Bill Hunt, vice president of Level 3 Communications; and Ron Binz, president of the Competition Policy Institute. Bob Rowe, president ex officio of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, will give the keynote address at 6:40 p.m. A reception will follow the keynote address.
The cost is $50 for the public, $25 for FCBA, CBA communications section, DTP members and CU alumni, and free for Silicon Flatirons members, CU students, faculty and staff and members of the press.
