The 10th Annual Umoja Gospel Extravaganza will be held Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Various choirs throughout the Boulder and Denver metro area are scheduled to participate. It is free and open to the public.

The event is organized by students in CU-Boulder's Umoja Voices Gospel Choir, with the assistance of DeLaris Carpenter of CU's Cultural Unity Center.

"Umoja" (pronounced "ooh-MOE-jah") means "unity" in African culture. The gospel extravaganza is intended to bring people of all ethnicities together through songs of praise and worship, according to Tiffanee Lenox, CU junior and Umoja member.

Sponsors include the University of Colorado Student Union Representatives Council; Office of the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences; Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs; Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs; Black Student Alliance; African American Advocacy and Genesis Christian Collegiate Ministry.
