The University of Colorado at Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science is accepting applications for the 33rd High School Honors Institute to be held on campus July 31 to Aug. 2.

The college will accept applications through June 11 from high school sophomores and juniors with an interest in math, science and engineering. Hands-on sessions for participants will include bridge construction, solar-energy projects, aerodynamics experiments and activities covering the principles of space flight, biotechnology, robotics, supercomputers, artificial intelligence and electronic circuitry.

The high school students will be conducting research in the collegeÂ’s innovative Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory, a unique facility outfitted with advanced instruments and computers and designed to provide real-world experience for undergraduates.

The high school students will have an opportunity to meet CU-Boulder students and engineering faculty, learn about career opportunities from engineers in industry and experience campus life in the residence halls.
