The University of Colorado at Boulder has honored two undergraduate students with the Student Employee of the Year award for the 1999-2000 academic year.
Brad Judy, a microsystems support technician for CU聮s Information Technology Services, was selected as the first-place winner and Noelle Baroody, student assistant in the Office of International Education, was selected as the second-place winner.
Judy and Baroody, along with 21 other students nominated for the award, will be honored at a special luncheon hosted by Chancellor Richard Byyny on Tuesday, May 2, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Regent Administrative Center, room 302. Both awardees will receive gift certificates to the Colorado Bookstore and Judy's nomination will advance to the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators for the regional competition.
Judy, 23, a senior sociology major, has worked with ITS since May 1995. In addition to providing technical support for microcomputer systems, Judy has been involved in the design, installation and maintenance of student computing labs, including those in the new Humanities Building. He has been involved in many special projects, which include making computing facilities on campus more accessible for students with disabilities.
Baroody, 21, is a senior majoring in political science who has worked at the Office of International Education for three years. Baroody works with the Smith Hall International Program for first-year students interested in international resources on campus. She publishes and designs the layout and content for the annual student picture book, bi-weekly newsletters and program announcements and organizes campus events.
Each spring, the Student Employment Office selects two students nominated by faculty, staff or students for outstanding service to their employers and to the university community. 麻豆淫院 must have completed six months of part-time employment and be enrolled in a degree program at the time of nomination.
