Â鶹ÒùÔº from the state-wide Youth in Natural Resources program will participate in activities at both CU-BoulderÂ’s Mountain Research Station and the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory (ITLL) on Wednesday, July 28.
The students will begin the day by touring the Research Station site outside of Nederland and then visit campus for an admissions presentation and hands-on experiments at ITLL in the afternoon.
Youth in Natural Resources (YNR) is an intensive conservation corps and environmental education program. YNR students, who come from diverse backgrounds, are paid minimum wage during the summer to perform environmental work throughout Colorado and participate in educational activities introducing them to natural resource issues and careers.
The goal of the day is to expose students from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds to opportunities in natural resources, the importance of environmental issues and the benefits of higher education.
Â鶹ÒùÔº visiting CU-Boulder will participate in a variety of activities including a hike to the Mountain Research Station site, a presentation of the research being conducted at the site and hands-on lab experiments in CU-BoulderÂ’s Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory. An itinerary of the dayÂ’s activities and directions to the Mountain Research Station are attached.
