The CU College of Architecture and Planning has been ranked for the second consecutive year among the top programs in the country by the Gourman Report, a nationally recognized guide to institutions of higher learning.
The numerical ratings contained in the latest annual edition of the Gourman Report placed CU聮s undergraduate planning program in ninth place, scoring 4.66 on a five-point scale. The program held the same ranking last year.
The Gourman Report considers a number of factors, ranging from the quality of faculty research and scholarship to research funding and administration in determining its rankings. It is compiled each year by Jack Gourman, a retired professor at California State University at Northridge, and is published by the Princeton Review and Random House.
The report, which ranks some 140 academic majors, is used frequently by high school counselors to advise graduating students on colleges.
The CU-Denver College of Architecture and Planning has approximately 600 undergraduate students on the Boulder campus. Professional master聮s degrees are offered by the college in Denver and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program operates on both campuses.
