Wardenburg Health Center at CU-Boulder has opened its first optometry clinic to provide students with specialty eye-care services.
"We feel it's going to be extremely popular because optometry is a service in high demand," said Barbara Brandt, a nurse at Wardenburg Health Center.
Services offered at the Wardenburg optometry clinic will include comprehensive eye exams for all ages, contact lens fitting, treatment of glaucoma, ocular trauma and eye infections, and consultation for laser refractive surgery.
Julia Robinson, O.D., of the CU-Health Sciences Center optometry department in Denver, is the service provider. Dr. Robinson has broad experience working with all age groups and is highly qualified, said Brandt.
She will be available to meet with students on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Faculty and staff may receive routine eye exams, once every two years, with a $10 co-payment but should call for eligibility. Â鶹ÒùÔº may receive free routine eye exams with CU student health insurance plans A and B, as of Aug. 19.
