On Wednesday, October 17, Samuel Boyd, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Jewish Studies, presented his research in a "TED-style" talk at the Dairy Art Center as part of theÌýUniversity of Colorado's first Research and Innovation Week. Nine faculty members from CU gave short, five-minuteÌýelevator pitches to the audience, explaining what their research is and why it is important.
Professor Boyd gave a talk about the Bible and its influences in all aspects of life. He spoke about how he saw it during his youth, the power of the Bible in modern America, and the need for readers of the Bible to understand that it's an ancient book, written outside of the western world.
