In January, the federal government transitioned to new leadership in the White House and in Congress. The transitions may result in new federal policies, regulations and executive orders. CU Boulder leadership together with the university’s federal relations team and legal counsel will be monitoring these transitions and—after carefully assessing new policies, regulations and executive orders for potential impacts to CU Boulder’s academic, research and public service missions—will update the campus community as early and as often as possible.

This spring, we have six trips exploring topics such as animal welfare, environmental conservation, food insecurity, housing insecurity, immigration, and youth empowerment: Each Sko Serve is led by two Site Leaders (current students who planned the trip) and has ten participants. 

UROP represents an opportunity to support student-centered education that makes the most of CU Boulder’s global leadership in research and creative production. 

Black History Month has been recognized in February since 1976 in the U.S. Many departments, including the Center for Inclusion and Social Change, Center for Student Involvement, Dennis Small Cultural Center and the Center for African & African American Studies, have events for Buffs to gather, learn, and celebrate together.

President Trump issued an executive order on Jan. 20 instituting increased review of applications for U.S. immigration benefits including visas and admission to the United States.

President Trump signed amendments to the Laken Riley Act into law on Jan. 29, requiring the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain individuals unlawfully present in the United States who have been charged with, arrested for, convicted of, or have admitted to having committed acts of burglary, theft, larceny, or shoplifting. These offenses are in addition to any “assault of a law enforcement officer offense or any crime that results in death or serious bodily injury to another person.”

F-1 students who are planning to work after graduation will learn details of the Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) application process.

This six-hour course covers everything from burns and broken bones to choking and heart attacks. This course also includes adult, infant and junior CPR and AED training. All participants must be CU Boulder student, faculty, staff or affiliate to register.

BLSA will put on an event with food and entertainment for Black History Month. 

This 32-hour course includes all the necessary Lifeguard Training material from the American Red Cross including certification in CPR for the professional rescuer and first aid. You must attend all classes to receive certification.

Whether you use a camera or phone for your pictures, we will teach you the best tips and tricks for taking stunning pictures to showcase your adventures! Bring your own camera (or phone). Transportation provided.

Join us for a fun, creative afternoon at Access+ and customize a free tote bag! All materials are provided, including fabric paints and brushes.

Participants will learn and practice how to use a map and compass, account for the difference between true and magnetic north and how to take bearings from the real world and on a map to find where they are! Transportation and navigation equipment is provided. No prior navigation experience necessary.

This course is designed for first-time backcountry skiers/riders and those who may need a refresher. Learn basic touring and navigation techniques while traveling shorter distances and getting two to three runs on slopes less than 30 degrees.
