- Meet Dustin Ramsay, a recent CU Boulder alumni, and co-founder of Sarus Lifting! Sarus Lifting creates lift planning tools for construction companies and heavy lifting contractors.
- Meati uses the roots of mushrooms to produce whole cuts, like steak ready to slice on top of a salad or chicken breast breaded and fried as a sandwich. Much of the funds from its recent Series B will go toward completing construction on an 80,000-square-foot production plant, which will soon pump out millions of pounds of Meati in time for a commercial launch in 2022. Meati was founded in 2019 by Huggins and CTO Justin Whiteley, after meeting at CU Boulder while working toward their own PhDs.
- With her brand Past Life the Collective, Berkley Gamble is showing that sustainability is in fashionThroughout her youth as an athlete, Berkley Gamble (Comm’16) wore her soccer uniform with pride. It showed people what she cared about and stood for: determination, sportsmanship and teamwork. Today, Gamble’s self-expression is rooted in a different type of clothing: her brand Past Life the Collective, “a sustainable, small batch label for those who speak the truth, walk their own path and raise hell.”
- Nicholas Kellaris (MatSci’20) is the Director of Research at Artimus Robotics, where he focuses on studying and improving electrohydraulic actuators—devices that convert stimulus into movement—and conducts research into the materials systems from which they are built.
- Claire France began her dream endeavor, My Launch Box, a lunch box meal delivery and catering service with a buy-one-give-one model. With the tagline "Fuel the Future," Launch Box partners with one of the largest elementary schools in Chicago Public Schools, where 96% of the school’s 1,200 students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.
- Meet Casey Nunnelly and Sabina Rizzo, CU Boulder alumnae, cousins and co-founders of Byte Bars, the no-regrets vegan energy bar. Casey and Sabina both attended CU Boulder and studied Communication, where Casey was also a member of the CU Women’s Ice Hockey team.
- At a time when companies struggled to locate masks and other PPE at affordable prices in a highly stressed supply chain, CU alumnus Russ Decker (CompSci’18) and co-founder Jake Deichmann decided to use their technology skills to help. Since they founded PPE Exchange in June 2020, their blockchain system has helped companies secure roughly 36 million units of PPE and transfer $48 million in payments.
