I am so grateful for the opportunities that the Honors Scholars program gave me the past four years! I have met so many amazing people through the events each semester, especially at the Coffee Hours. In addition, being a part of a smaller community of like-minded individuals during college was beyond beneficial. The Honors Scholars Program led me to various Honors Programs and internships throughout my college career. In addition, I was lucky enough to complete a Senior Honors Thesis, researching restorative justice in the NCAA, through the Sociology Honors Program. I am continuing my education at The University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School beginning in Fall 2021. I am chasing my dreams of becoming a Sports Lawyer and couldn't have done it without the Honors Scholars Program.Ìý

The honors courses I took during my time at CU were some of my favorites. They really allowed me to get close with my peers and professors and have insightful discussions.

I am graduating with a major in Psychology and Spanish Language & Literature and a minor in Business. During my time at CU, one of my favorite things to be a part of was the Honors Program. My favorite thing about this program was the classes offered. During these classes, I got to know each one of my classmates. As most of you are aware, this is impossible when taking big lecture classes. The professors are also amazing. Dr. Hatch’s classes were always so much fun. Being part of this program was such a pleasure. The Honors Program is an experience I will remember from CU. After graduation, I will be pursuing a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology.

Spending my four years at CU in the Honors Program has been a real source of pride and motivation. It has been a great way for me to enjoy smaller classes, develop more direct relationships with my professors and my peers, and both inspire and challenge me academically. I am graduating from the CMCI school with a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, with a minor in business and sociology. As a result of my success in the Honors Program, and at CU in general, I was able to secure two summer internships, and now, a full-time position at Zeno Group in Chicago, working on the Coca Cola account.Ìý

My experiences at CU and the Honors Program have been nothing but positive. Even though I switched majors at the end of my sophomore year, I have successfully completed not only a major in Anthropology, but minors in Geology, Education, Leadership, and Classics. I interned with Girl Scouts of Colorado my sophomore year and the City of Boulder's Climate Initiatives Office my junior year. I hope to apply to law school next year. My time in the Honors Program is marked by attending such a wide range of fun and educational events. My favorites were the TV with a Prof and the lecture series.

I will never forget my CU experience as an undergraduate student! I am not only thankful to graduate with a BA in Biochemistry and a minor in Philosophy, but I am extremely grateful to be an honors scholar in the Arts and Science program. Outside of school, I volunteer at Colorado Children’s Hospital North Campus and work as a medical assistant at Colorado Skin Surgery and Dermatology in Denver. After graduation, I plan on applying for Medical School in hopes of becoming a physician. Being a part of the Honors Program encouraged me to stay driven to my future goals to become a Doctor and with that being said, I would not be the person I am today without being a part of the Honors Program!

Being involved in the Honors Program allowed me to not only take small classes but also connect with some of the most outstanding professors at the university. I was able to attend Semester at Sea during my junior year, and this experience was unbelievable, despite having to leave early due to the COVID-19 crisis. After graduation, I am working for Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP in downtown Los Angeles, and plan to attend law school in the fall of 2022.

I will be graduating from CU with a Sociology Major on a Pre-Med Track with Certificates in Public Health and Care, Health, and Resilience. Throughout my four years at CU, I have earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester, which shows my hard work and my ability to juggle my jobs, internships, and sports along with my education. Additionally, I will be graduating with Latin Honors after defending my Honors Thesis in April. Becoming a Buff and joining the CU Honors Program has really allowed me to appreciate my education to the fullest capacity and has pushed me to become the best version of myself, academically. I plan to take these experiences with me to help me as I continue my education through medical school in the coming future, and I am so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity to show me the way to get there.Ìý

Katelynn is a graduating senior double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology with a minor in business. She has been involved with undergraduate research, honors, and HerCampus CU while at CU Boulder. She will defend an Honors Thesis on the effects of adolescent alcohol exposure on adult motivational behavior, and is passionate about mentorship within her roles. She will be joining the Teach For America 2021 Corps and is excited to share her love of science and Colorado with her future students.Ìý

During my time here at CU, the Honors Program has provided me with a wealth of opportunities to interact with amazing individuals here at CU. I am so grateful for all the support and guidance the Honors faculty has provided me throughout my academic journey. Specifically, thank you to Dr. Rolf Norgaard for offering his critical eye and being a backboard while I developed my thesis. Thank you, as well, to all the honors scholars officers for putting on events and continuing engagement throughout the pandemic. You all made this program a joy to be a part of, and I am glad I got to partake. After graduation, I will be working in a lab as a post-bacc fellow at the NIH focused on HIV therapeutic research. I am excited about these future endeavors but will miss all the wonderful experiences I have had at CU.ÌýÌý

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at CU Boulder. Coming to college was extremely stressful, as I was worried this school was going to be too big for me and I would have a hard time meeting people, getting involved, and balancing work and school. I am proud to say I will be graduating this May with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Leadership Studies through the Presidents Leadership Class here on campus. I have had such a broad range of experiences on and off-campus and I am so grateful for what this school has shown me. After graduation, I plan to apply to Physician Assistant school and will be working as either a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant for a year before attending school again. My favorite honors memory has been the ability to develop deep connections with professors and work with peers in a more connected and intimate environment. I cannot wait for what the future holds, asÌýI know I have built an amazing foundation here at CU.

Alex is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in History (summa cum laude)Ìýand Psychology with a minor in Business with the ultimate intention of going to law school. Her biggest accomplishments in her undergraduate career were writing her honors thesis discussing the impact of race on gun policy, interning in D.C. under Congressman Crow, and becoming President of CU's Relay for Life Club.

I will be graduating with a BA in Environmental Studies, along with minors in ATOC, Geography, and a certificate in Arctic Studies. My time at CU has opened my eyes to the endless opportunities in academia and the world of outdoor recreation. The Honors Program has given me a place to build community and feel welcomed among both my peers and professors. I have cherished my classes and know my experiences in the Honors Program will help me navigate the future. When I wasn’t spending time in class or finishing assignments, I truly found my people at the Outdoor Program. Between classes I worked at the climbing gym and led outdoor trips for CU. The people I met in the Honors Program and at the Outdoor Program have become my closest friends and I know our relationships will continue outside of our time at CU. I’m excited to graduate and use my degree to pursue a career in sustainability and the outdoor industry.

Annie is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Astrophysics. After graduation, she plans to pursue a few years of work experience before attending graduate school for physics or astronomy.

I’m thrilled to be graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences with dual bachelor’s degrees in Geography and Sociology, along with a minor in Public Health. During my undergraduate career, I have worked as a peer educator with Health Promotion and a research assistant with Dr. Colleen Reid, as well as completing an internship with the National Environmental Health Association through the CU in D.C. program. After graduation, I plan to conduct public policy research and analysis, with a focus on children’s health equity. I’m so grateful for my time at CU and with the Honors Program, and can’t wait to see what the future brings!

I have loved being a part of the Honors Scholars Program for all four years of my undergraduate degree. The Honors Scholar Program was a source of my favorite courses and professors, as well as networking opportunities and fun, intellectual events that I always looked forward to. This community looks to serve the curiosity and adventure of CU students while supporting academic achievements and create opportunities to come together around common issues and interests. I’m very glad to have joined in 2017.
