Haŋ Mitákuyepi! (Hello)! Chantal Baca, born and raised in Denver, Colorado, is a proud first-generation college graduate, professional, and educator. As a descendant of the Pueblo Nation (Diné/Hopi/Taos), Lakota, and Mexican-American heritages, Indigenous representation is a fundamental value for her and a guiding principle in her leadership role.

At the University of Colorado Boulder, Chantal manages and leads the Academic Services program for The BOLD Center, which is dedicated to supporting engineering students through academic support services and success initiatives in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Her responsibilities include overseeing high-level academic services operations, managing complex projects, coordinating engineering management and tutoring services, and analyzing intricate student user data across multiple platforms. Her role is pivotal in strategically guiding the implementation of academic intervention initiatives, resulting in supportive and effective strategies that enhance the undergraduate experience for those pursuing engineering education.

Chantal expresses, “I love working at The BOLD Center because it offers a unique opportunity to enhance, design, and collaborate on academic services that support STEM students throughout their college journey. Being part of an advanced, creative learning process within a student environment that fosters problem-solving skills ignites a bright vision for the future of BOLD’s engineers. The BOLD Center emphasizes equity and inclusion in a community-centered space, allowing me to positively impact our learning community with our Academic Services.”
