Small grants of up to $2,500 are available from the 2018-19 Sustainable CU program through April.
Sustainable CU started in 2005 when students voted to dedicate a portion of their fees to implement on-campus projects incorporating renewable energy, energy efficiency, recycling and waste reduction. Funds are administered by the Environmental Center with special consideration given to initiatives created and led by students, though faculty and staff can apply as well.
Small grants fund expenses such as infrastructure, contractor fees, consumables and equipment rentals. Sustainable CU does not pay for applicants鈥� own labor. However, fees charged by third-party professionals like architects are funded by the program.

Small grant projects in 2017-18 included an initiative to make 3D printing more environmentally friendly and a pilot project to compost small animal bedding soiled during research work on campus.听
