This summer, CU Boulder’s Alumni Career Services team won two Excellence and Impact awards from the (ACSN), recognizing their work to support Forever Buffs with quality career management resources throughout every stage of their careers. The awards were announced at ACSN’s annual conference at the end of July.
In the Career Programming (Series) category, the team won for their virtual job search group for alumni and new graduates. Hosted monthly, this free series of events offers alumni currently in the job search process — or preparing for it — opportunities to learn about topics such as strategies for landing a job, LinkedIn networking and finding work you love. The events also include career panels, regular job search Q&As and time for networking, all within a community of fellow Forever Buffs. Check out this year’s virtual job search events on Alumni Career Services’ Workshops and Events page.
CU Boulder also won in the Alumni Engagement category for their alumni career appointments program, which is available to all CU Boulder alumni. New graduates receive free career advising for one year after graduation and then two free appointments every year — for life. Any career topic can be the focus of discussion, including updating your resume, honing your online presence, negotiating a raise or planning for retirement.
Congratulations to Jennifer Duncan, program manager, and Jennifer Brown, career services advisor, for their outstanding work supporting alumni throughout their career journeys! Both team members were also cited as contributors to ACSN’s first-ever white paper, titled “Leveraging Industry Expertise to Prepare Alumni for Tomorrow’s Workforce” — further illustrating the team’s thought leadership in this area.
