Scholar Rescue for Afghanistan and Beyond
You can make an impact and help academic scholars at risk throughout the world!
The crisis in Afghanistan highlights an immediate need to support threatened and displaced international scholars. In the wake of the US departure, scholars in Afghanistan are facing severe repression and economic catastrophe, while thousands of recent refugees are still seeking host countries, jobs, and housing. In collaboration with the Center for Asian Studies and Dr. Jennifer Fluri, and in partnership with the IIE Scholar Rescue Fund, International Student & Scholar Services is asking for your help in raising funds to provide direct financial support to at-risk academic scholars impacted by disasters, civil unrest and other crises. We aim to raise sufficient funding to allow them to continue their academic endeavors as visiting fellows at CU Boulder. With your assistance, we hope to be able to support a threatened international scholar each year.
Your gift will assist in covering travel-related costs, stipends for living expenses, and/or health insurance so that our colleagues may enrich our campus community and continue their scholarship in a safe and welcoming environment. We are working with the IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (), an international network that supports academic freedom.
Through this community crowdfunding effort, every donation will make a difference, no matter how large or small! We hope you will contribute. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by April 30, 2022. Please share this message with your friends, colleagues, neighbors, and family.
