Introducing Liza Williams!

The Center for Asian Studies is pleased to announce that Liza Williams has joined our staff as our new Event Coordinator. Liza is replacing Carla Stansifer who worked for CAS for the last 2 years.

Liza has an MFA in Theater Directing from the University of Iowa and a PhD in Theater History, Theory and Criticism from CU Boulder. She has taught at Colorado State, Naropa University, CU Boulder, The Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, CU Denver, The University of Iowa, Plymouth State University in NH and Marlboro College in Vermont.

Liza has worked professionally in theater as a designer, manager, director, technician, and in marketing and publicity for over 30 years. Recently she designed the lighting for a CU Opera production. Liza brings her experience in theatrical production and 11 years working in lots of different capacities at CU Boulder to the event coordinator position at CAS. Always eager to learn, Liza looks forward to what the events that the Center for Asian Studies will teach her about Asia.

Liza moved to New England after graduating, but succumbed to “Niwot’s revenge” and returned to Boulder in 2015. She lives in a cabin built in 1860 in the mountains, and dreams of travelling to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.  You can reach her at liza.williams@colorado.edu or 303-735-5122.
