The Annual CUBASGA Conference is Coming Up this Weekend!

The Center for Asian Studies is pleased to partner with the CU Boulder Asian Studies Graduate Association is to bring this year's Graduate Student Conference.

Held Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, this conference will bring together graduate students from CU, as well as universities across the country to engage in a two-day dialogue on topics ranging from ancient Chinese studies to contemporary Japanese literature.

Keynote addresses this year will be given by both Professor Ding Xiang Warner of Cornell University and Professor Michael Emmerich of the University of California, Los Angeles. Professor Warner will give her presentation on the topic “When Stone Speaks: Challenges and Opportunities for 21st-century Sinology” from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Friday, February 27th and Professor Emmerich will present his topic "World Literature as The Tale of Genji" from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 28th.

Panels start on Friday, February 27, at 1:00 p.m. in Humanities 150, and on Saturday, February 28, at 9:00 a.m. in Humanities 250.
