Are you someone who enjoys learning about new technologies and teaching them to others? ASSETT (Arts and Sciences Support of Education Through Technology) is looking to hire two Student Fellows. A Student Fellow is an undergraduate student who enjoys learning about and using a variety of technologies; is not afraid to present to a large group; and is comfortable working with both peers and faculty.

Through the Teaching Technology Assistance Program (TTAP), Student Fellows work closely with Arts & Sciences faculty who are interested in integrating technology into their courses. Typically, a Student Fellow consults with an interested faculty member on a one-on-one basis in order to determine the needs of a specific course, investigate potential tools, and demo the selected technologies.  The Student Fellow then provides in-class technical support for the both the faculty member and their students.

Student Fellows are also trained to assist the Visualizing Instructional Practices Service (VIPS) by observing classes to collect objective observation data.  Finally, the Student Fellows support the ASSETT mission by helping ASSETT staff with various technology-related projects.

This is an undergraduate hourly position for 8-12 hours per week, starting at $12 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • The ability to work independently and within a team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly

Having an interest or experience with digital literacy, digital identity (beyond social media), WordPress, and other web publishing tools is a plus.

If you are interested in applying to be a Student Fellow, send your resume and a one-page cover letter explaining why you would make a great Student Fellow to assett@colorado.edu.
