Johnson recognized by ASEE for engineering education
Congratulations to aerospace instructor Aaron Johnson for receiving a from the American Society for Engineering Education.
The program "honors promising emerging engineering education scholars who have the potential for substantial contributions to the community."
The honor was officially announced during this week's 2020 ASEE Virtual Conference.
From ASEE: "Aaron has potential to make substantial contributions: his research plans focus on improving how we teach engineering science courses in the middle years, especially to address the experiences of students underrepresented in engineering. He proposes big questions that can change the way we educate our engineering students."
Johnson joined the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences in 2019 after completing post-doctoral research programs in engineering education at the University of Michigan and Tufts University.
He earned his PhD in Humans in Aerospace from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied how operators respond to the dynamic re-allocation of tasks during flight. In addition, Johnson holds an MS in Aerospace Engineering, also from MIT, and a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
